Saturday 06/17/23 Carbine 101 with James Everson

Basic Carbine is designed for new carbine owners or those with limited experience. Basic Carbine is Step 1 in the Echo Response Carbine Series. Training will increase knowledge, comfort, and skill level through hands on experience in a stress-free learning environment. Basic Carbine provides a solid foundation of skills to increase your personal preparedness.

Pre-Requisites:  Participants must understand and apply range safety procedures and basic firearms safety.

• Firearm safety and handling
• Range Safety
• Fundamentals of marksmanship
• Grip diagnostics
• Loading and unloading procedures
• Malfunction procedures
• Sight alignment
• Static shooting positions
• Maintenance and care
• Equipment consideration

Course Length: 4hrs

Ammunition: 300 rounds minimum (No steel casing or reloads)

Age: 18yrs and older

You Will Need to Bring

• Quality functional Carbine

• Weapon sight
• Sling
• 3 magazines
• 2 magazines carriers (belt or vest)

• New Factory FMJ Ammo (No Steel Casing or reloads)
• Speed loader
• Wraparound eyewear, polycarbonate lenses or non-shattering prescription glasses
• Electronic earmuffs and earplugs
• Range gear
• Cleaning kit
• Optic tools & extra batteries

Other:

• Please make sure to bring food and water as it is not provided
• Note taking material.

Range Attire:

• Clothing suitable for training in any weather
• Pants must have belt loops with a sturdy belt
• Closed-toed shoes and suitable for rapid movement and turning
• Cap or Wide Brimmed hat
• No loose-fitting shirts at the neck, tank tops,v-neck, etc… (to avoid brass from entering shirt)
• Wraparound eyewear, polycarbonate lenses or non-shattering prescription glasses
• Electronic earmuffs and earplugs

Optional for the private outdoor range in Newbery, but highly recommended:

• Sports/Camping Chair
• Sunscreen
• Electrolyte Drink  example: Liquide IV
• Cooling Towel  example: Mission Stay Cool

For Pickett Weaponry Courses we are shooting outdoors so bring anything you need for a successful course.
