HANDGUN TRAINING PACKAGE HANDGUNS 103 – DRAWSTROKES & HOLSTER OPTIONS

This course is designed and presented as an intermediate level program focusing on the safe and efficient drawstroke and presentation of the semi-automatic handgun.  Competency and consistency in the fundamentals of shooting and safe weapons handling skills will continue to be reinforced.

Course Length:  4 hours

Prerequisites:  This is an intermediate level class.  Students must have successfully taken HG 102 or an equivalent course.

Ammunition:  50-100 rounds

Review Firearms Safety

• Refresh Fundamentals (Consistency and competency are expected)
• Medical Plan
• Presentation & Drawstroke

Primary Malfunction

• Emergency or Slide Lock Reloads
• Magazine Exchanges or Tactical Reloads with Retention
• Tactical Reloads
• Secondary Malfunction

Live Fire Range Time

Equipment List:             

• Pistol in good working order with at least 3 magazines (semi-auto center fire pistols only – revolvers or .22 caliber pistols are not allowed)
• Belt mounted, dominant side OWB (Outside the Waistband Holster)
• Magazine pouch
• Sturdy belt at least 1.5″ wide
• Footwear suitable for rapid movement and turning
• Casual, comfortable clothing suitable for training in any weather
• Hydration system
• Sunscreen and bug spray
• Hat with a brim
• Hearing protection
• Wrap-around eye protection
• Note taking materials and highlighter
