Defensive Pistol with Ron Stambaugh

This advanced-level course is designed for students ready to refine their defensive handgun skills. The program focuses on close-quarters engagements, drawing from concealment, movement, and shooting under realistic conditions.

This class serves as the foundational course in a progressive series aimed at developing the essential skills required to effectively and responsibly use a handgun for defensive purposes.

Students are expected to demonstrate safe, competent, and efficient weapons handling skills, including drawing from an OWB (outside-the-waistband) holster.

Course Details

Course Length: 4 Hours

Prerequisites:
This is an advanced-level class. Students must have successfully completed HG 103 or an equivalent course.

Ammunition Requirement:
100–150 rounds (No steel-cased ammunition)

Gate Opens: 8 AM
Arrival Window: 8–8:15 AM
Class Begins: 9 AM

Late arrivals may not be permitted to participate in live fire training.

Range Waiver

All students must complete the required Range Waiver prior to attending.

Required Range Gear

• Belt-mounted, dominant-side holster

• Magazine pouch

• Sturdy belt (minimum 1.5″ wide)

• Footwear suitable for rapid movement and turning

• Casual, weather-appropriate training clothing

• Hearing protection

• Eye protection

• Hydration system

• Snacks / food

• If necessary, Sunscreen and bug spray

• Brimmed hat

• Optional, Camping-style folding chair

• Note-taking materials and highlighter
