Fundamentals of Carrying a Concealed Pistol with James Everson

Concealed Pistol is designed to teach the fundamentals of carrying a concealed pistol. This course focuses on essential skills to safely conceal, draw, and utilize a concealed pistol for self-defense. Participants must demonstrate safe weapon handing skills and have a basic understanding of pistol marksmanship.

Participants must demonstrate safe gun handling, weapon system familiarity, basic marksmanship skills, and ability to safely draw from an Inside the Waistband (IWB) holster.

Course Length: 5hrs

Ammunition: 300 rds of new factory FMJ ammo (No steel casing or reloads)

You Will Need to Bring

• Quality functional semi-automatic pistol – Full size and compact pistols only
• 3 magazines minimum with magazine carrier
• Sturdy belt capable of supporting holster and magazine carrier
• New Factory FMJ Ammo (No Steel Casing or reloads)
• Speed loader
• Wrap around eyewear, polycarbonate lenses or non-shattering prescription glasses
• Electronic earmuffs and earplugs
• Range gear
• Cleaning kit
• If necessary, optic tools & extra batteries

Other:

• Please make sure to bring food and water as it is not provided
• Note taking material.

Range Attire:

• Clothing suitable for training in any weather
• Pants must have belt loops with a sturdy belt to hold your holster correctly
• Closed-toed shoes and suitable for rapid movement and turning
• Cap or Wide Brimmed hat
• No loose-fitting shirts at the neck, tank tops,v-neck, etc… (to avoid brass from entering shirt)

Optional for the private outdoor range in Newbery, but highly recommended:

• Sports/Camping Chair
• Sunscreen
• Electrolyte Drink  example: Liquide IV
• Cooling Towel  example: Mission Stay Cool

For Pickett Weaponry Courses we are shooting outdoors so bring anything you need for a successful course.
