This is an introductory level course designed for concerned citizens, police, and military. This preliminary program presents new AR owners and shooters with the rudimentary knowledge needed to understand its functioning and safe handling. Students will be guided through the safe disassembly, cleaning, and reassembly of their firearm in a classroom environment. Range time will include the fundamentals of marksmanship as they pertain to the AR and essential tasks such as loading, unloading, obtaining zero, and firing their AR from the standing and prone positions.

You Will Need to Bring
- Quality functional AR with sling
- Optic or non-optic with adjustment tools)
- 3 magazines
- 2 magazines carriers (belt or vest)
- New Factory FMJ Ammo
- Speed loader
- Eye protection
- Electronic earmuffs and earplugs
- Range gear
Optional:
- Cleaning kit
- Optic tools & extra batteries
- First Aid Kit
- Please make sure to bring food and water as it is not provided
- Note taking material.
Range Attire:
- Clothing suitable for training in any weather
- Closed-toed shoes and suitable for rapid movement and turning
- Cap or Wide Brimmed hat
- No loose-fitting shirts at the neck, tank tops,v-neck, etc… (to avoid brass from entering shirt)
- Wraparound eyewear, polycarbonate lenses or non-shattering prescription glasses
- Electronic earmuffs and earplugs
Optional for the private outdoor range in Newbery, but highly recommended:
- Sports/Camping Chair
- Sunscreen
- Electrolyte Drink example: Liquide IV
- Cooling Towel example: Mission Stay Cool
For Pickett Weaponry Courses we are shooting outdoors so bring anything you need for a successful course.
