We are continuing building our skills for self-defense, and part of those skills is learning how to Shoot from Behind Cover. It’s not easy without proper techniques and commitment to practice.
Competency and consistency in the fundamentals of shooting, safe firearm handling skills, and drawing from holster will continue to be reinforced. Cover vs Concealment with your firearm is an important skill for self-defense.

- 6-6.5 hours
- Please bring healthy snacks and water. We will have breaks in all the classes and 30-minute to an hour lunch break for all day classes. Bring a healthy lunch for all day classes. You can eat and drink inside the classroom.

Prerequisites
- This is an intermediate level class. Students must have successfully taken HG 103 or an equivalent course. Drawing from OWB Holster is required, along with safe gun handling and accuracy.
Ammunition
- 100-150 rounds of FMJ Range Ammo No steel casing.

Location
We will be meeting at Pickett Weaponry. Doors open at 8:30am. Please arrive early, as we may not permit late arrivals. After the classroom portion we will be going to a private outdoor range in Newberry.

Age
- 18yrs and older
- Under 18yrs of age must have a parent or legal guardian attending the same course.
Equipment List
- Your Pistol in good working order with at least 3 magazines
- Belt mounted, dominant side OWB Holster Outside the Waistband Holster
- Magazine pouch
- 50-100 rounds of target ammo. No steel casing.
- Trauma Kit
- Eye Protection: We recommend wrap around safety glasses.
- Ear Protection: We recommend Electronic Ear Protection. We sell a few options.
- Handgun Tool Kit, Small Hand Towel, and extra batteries if you have optics or lasers
- Notebook & pen to take notes.
- Snack/lunch & water
Range Attire Suitable for Training
- Wear very comfortable cloths.
- Cap or Wide Brimmed hat: This is to avoid brass.
- No loose-fitting shirts at the neck, tank tops,v-neck, etc…To avoid brass from entering shirt.
- Sturdy closed-toe shoes
Optional for the private outdoor range in Newbery only, but highly recommended.
