This course is designed and presented as an advanced level program focusing on shooting in low or reduced light situations with and without a weapon mounted light. Flashlight use with handguns will be introduced. The safe and efficient drawstroke, presentation, and reloading of the semi-automatic handgun will continue to be reinforced. Competency and consistency in the fundamentals of shooting and safe weapons handling skills will be expected.
Course Length: 3 hours
Prerequisites: This is an advanced level class. Students must have successfully taken professional training courses and proficient with a handgun.
Ammunition: 50-100 rounds
Equipment needed: Handheld flashlight and/or weapon mounted light if so desired
Agenda:
- Introductions
- Refresh Firearms safety
- Refresh offline movements, drawstroke, and presentation
- Introduce low light and reduced light shooting principals
- Introduce flashlight techniques discussing pros/cons of each
- Dry fire all positions ensuring handgun is presented BEFORE flashlight
- Show options for flashlight placement during reloads
- Range time
- After action brief and future training recommendations

- Ammunition: Students are required to purchase 50-100rds of ammo on the day of training from the range.

You Will Need to Bring
- Handheld Flashlight
- Quality functional semi-automatic pistol – Full size and compact pistols only. With or without mounted light.
- 2 magazines minimum
- Speed loader
- Eye Protection (We prefer wraparound eyewear, polycarbonate lenses or non-shattering prescription glasses)
- Electronic earmuffs or earplugs
Other:
- Please make sure to bring food and water as it is not provided
- Note taking material.
Range Attire:
- Clothing suitable for training
- Closed-toed shoes
- Cap or Wide Brimmed hat
- No loose-fitting shirts at the neck, tank tops,v-neck, etc… (to avoid brass from entering shirt)
- Eye protection (We prefer wraparound eyewear, polycarbonate lenses or non-shattering prescription glasses)
- Electronic earmuffs or earplugs
