SAT 3/4/23 HANDGUNS 101

Description: This course is designed and presented as an entry level program focusing on introducing students to modern handguns, particularly the semi-automatic handgun. Safe weapons handling skills and understanding range rules are the primary talking points.
Course Length: 4 hours
Prerequisites: This is an introductory level class, there are no prerequisites.
Ammunition: 50 rounds

- Instruction
- Range time
- Targets
You will need to bring:
- Firearm in good working condition (if you don’t have your own firearm or can’t bring it for class you can rent one for $10 plus ammo. Please leave a remark in comments if you need a firearm.)
- Ammo 50rds (No steel casing)
- Eye Protection
- Electronic Ear Protection
- Notebook & pen to take notes.
- Snack/lunch & water
Range Attire:
- Cap or Wide Brimmed hat
- No loose-fitting shirts at the neck, tank tops,v-neck, etc… (to avoid brass from entering shirt)
- Long pants
- Sturdy closed-toe shoes
Other:
- Lunch & snacks as needed
- Water (enough to remain hydrated)
- Note taking material
Optional for the private outdoor range in Newbery only, but highly recommended:
- Sports/Camping Chair
- Sunscreen
- Electrolyte Drink example: Liquide IV
- Cooling Towel example: Mission Stay Cool
- For Pickett Weaponry Courses we are shooting outdoors so bring anything you need for a successful course.
